Hearings
Holding hearings is the main job of the Indeterminate Sentence Review Board (ISRB or Board).
Prison hearings help the Board decide if an offender is ready to leave prison. These are the most common Board hearings. The Board also holds hearings for offenders on supervision in the community. These hearings let the Board decide if offenders have broken the terms or rules of supervision.
Washington State laws (RCW) tell the Board generally how hearings must be done. In addition, Board rules (WAC) give more details about hearings.
Both types of hearings involve a well defined process.
